How to Find a Reddit User by Photo (AI Face Search Method)

Reddit is designed for relative anonymity — usernames typically don't include real names, and profile photos are optional. But users who post face photos in subreddits (r/selfie, r/RoastMe, r/AmItheAsshole photos, etc.) or who use their face as a profile avatar can sometimes be identified by running those photos through AI face search.

When Reddit Face Search Works

It works when: the user has posted photos of their face in public subreddits that get indexed, the user uses their real face as their profile avatar, the same person has posted similar photos on indexed non-Reddit platforms, or the photos have been indexed and archived by search engines or archival services.

Running a Reddit User Face Search

Save the photo — either the Reddit profile avatar or a photo they posted. If the photo is embedded in a post, take a screenshot or right-click to save. Upload to FaceHunterAI and review results for any platform. Reddit users who maintain other public social media typically appear via those platforms even if Reddit itself isn't directly indexed for the match.

Privacy Note for Reddit Users

If you post face photos on Reddit — even in subreddits you think are obscure — those photos can be indexed and potentially matched by AI face search to your other online identities. If you want to maintain anonymity on Reddit, avoid posting photos of your face, even in self-promotion or personal context threads. Use an avatar or abstract image as your profile photo.

Responsible Use

This capability exists because Reddit posts are public. Using it to identify someone for the purpose of harassment, doxxing, or to expose information they clearly wanted separate from their real-world identity would be an unethical misuse of the technology. Use this for legitimate safety and verification purposes only.
